Kerbo Charge Makes Home EV Charging Safe and Secure for Essex Resident

We’ve made our first EV charging cable channel installation in Essex, as a private land install in Manningtree.

Our solution addresses a significant barrier for many UK households, 40% of which lack driveways and face challenges when switching to electric vehicles (EVs).

Our Kerbo Charge channels not only simplify the charging process but also offer financial benefits. Residents can enjoy home charging costs, off-peak, for as little as 7.5p/kWh or 7p/mile. Moreover, those who combine this solution with solar panels can further reduce their energy costs. Essex resident, Xenia, can now benefit from 5-10 times cheaper home charging costs thanks to her new Kerbo Charge.

The Kerbo Charge channel allows EV owners to charge their vehicles at home, right from the street. The channel lies flush with the pavement surface, accommodating uneven pavements, and features a self-closing lid that eliminates trip hazards by snapping shut behind the cable.

Michael Goulden Co-founder of Kerbo Charge said: ”We know there are thousands of residents in Essex who have street parking and who would switch from their petrol/diesel car to electric tomorrow if they could charge at home. This is a great first step to bring home EV charging to everyone in Essex.

“We’re committed to making EV ownership more accessible and affordable for all and we encourage residents to contact local councils to push for the installation of Kerbo Charge channels.”

Like Xenia’s installation, private installations are also available, simply contact ben.grant@kerbocharge.com to enquire or for residents with public on-street parking visit kerbocharge.com/enter-your-postcode.
